Photos of HTC Firestone Spotted

A new HTC mobile phone running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system seems to have made it into the wild, namely the HTC Firestone. The device is expected to come to the market with an 8-megapixel photo snapper, which is its main selling point, as well as with a design that resembles a lot the HTC Touch Diamond.

For the time being, there are no exact details on how the images with the handset have made it into the wild, yet given the great resemblance with the aforementioned Touch Diamond and with the HTC Max 4G, the photos might not be real after all. It shouldn't be too long before we will learn how things really are, as the handset is rumored to come to the market in August this year.

The specifications list of HTC Firestone shows that it includes a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display, along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900 and UMTS2100 connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR capabilities, Wi-Fi 802.11b and 802.11g connectivity, as well as AGPS and G sensor.

In addition, the new mobile phone from the Taiwanese company should also feature a Qualcomm 8250 600 Mhz processor, coupled with 256MB RAM and 512 MB ROM, and users should have the opportunity to enjoy a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. The operating system it should come with is expected to be Windows Mobile 6.5, which is in line with what everybody is expecting for the platform.

For what it's worth, the specs of the device look pretty attractive, and, knowing what HTC is capable of, we should also expect the Firestone to include a wide range of features that should leverage the users' mobile experience. It remains to be seen whether the phone has indeed leaked, if whether will be officially announced in August and what price tag it will feature.
